VOTD

Music video for “Under Cover Of Darkness”, the first single off The Strokes’ new album Angles, out March 18th. I don’t know about you but I feel like this year is already and will continue to be great for music lovers. New albums from Cut Copy, Bright Eyes,  T.I., Radiohead, Beady Eye, are already out and awesome. Lupe Fiasco, Foo Fighters, R.E.M. and Dr. Dre all have stuff coming soon. It’s fucking awesome! I love mixes and remixes as much as anyone but there’s nothing like listening to an album straight through in it’s entirety as it was meant to be heard. I hope my vinyl collection grows exponentially this year because of all these great artists and the ones I have yet to discover.

Now Hear This

Here ya go people, first listen to Bright Eyes’ first album since 2007′s Cassadaga (which I love and you should too). It’s called The People’s Key and you can listen to it on NPR’s streaming radio by clicking on the photo above. It’s a really interesting concept album and after two listens I’d say it’s their best yet. The intro to the album might scare some people off but for those of you who know how to just sit through a new album and give it a chance, you’re in for a real treat.

Now Hear This!

This year’s Coachella will be my first and I couldn’t have dreamt up a better lineup. After the jump I’ve posted who I’ll be checking out, a song that I really want the band to play and why I wanna see em. You’ve probably heard some of them but I doubt you’ve heard all of them. Happy listening, see you in Indio in April.

On The Road Again

Putting the last of my stuff in storage this morning then hittin the road to the ol hippie city by the bay. Checking out Outside Lands for the weekend with some good Frends and then heading to Reno for, well Reno stuff. By Wednesday I should be good to make the 8 hour burn across Nevada and the Salt Flats to Park City. Not really sure how long I’ll be there for but I know I won’t be doing much blogging until then. I leave you with a few of my favorite road songs that will surely be blasting out of my car windows at some point during the trip. Cheers.
