This past weekend Frends and friends of Frends gathered out at Crowley Lake in the Mammoth area. There was no shade other than what you could make, no cell phone service which was great and enough booze to…well there was a lot of booze. Good music, great people, can’t wait for next year. Check some more shots right here. So far it’s scenic but there’s a disposable camera just begging to be developed. Can’t wait to see what’s on it.

This week we have the first teaser from the Commotion crew and it’s kick ass. Great song choice and great editing flow. Good work guys can’t wait to what comes out of all the late season storms that have been rolling through snow country.
One of the great things about snowboarding is the freedom of expression that it allows. There’s so many things I could say about snowboard videos and how much they mean to me personally but I think that’d be rather boring. Instead I’m happy to have been able to ask my good friend and fellow east coaster Nick Russell some questions about his involvement in the forthcoming snowboard film Commotion. I’m highly anticipating the release of this particular film because I know it will represent snowboarding in it’s most true and pure form. Check out the interview and some clips after the jump.

Growing up in Vermont there’s not a whole lot of concrete parks available to a skateboarder. What is in plentiful supply are mini ramps and few things are more fun than a good mini session with some friends. Luke Mitrani and Forrest Bailey got some shots in their spare time during the U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships that ought to make you rewind a few times. If you pay attention there is even a cameo by Cody “dirt beard” Rosenthal getting tech at the Brothers Park in Mammoth Lakes.
