Check Out…

The Levi’s Vintage Clothing site. History of a company that has defined America in more ways than one would think is possible. Even if you’re not a denim obsessed blogger, take the time to scroll through the evolution of the iconic 501 jean. The history of style in the country as we know it is all right there in the changes of the 501. Bet you didn’t know that though the jeans were made in San Francisco, the denim came from New Hampshire and the pair that started it all was put together in Reno. So once you’ve further educated yourself on that, check out the products section. Yeah they’re not going to be cheap but if you’ve got the scratch, nobody has archives to pull from like Levi’s. If you want to go further down the rabbit hole check out a bunch of vintage Levi’s ads. They’re about as classic as classic can get.

Shop Visit: Unionmade LA

Unionmade has found a home in LA at the Brentwood Country Mart. While the country mart itself is probably one of the cheesier attractions in the whole city, Unionmade is anything but. The shop has long been a local favorite up north, supplying San Francisco with a vast selection of fine menswear. Now they’ve come south with a distilled version of their SF store to offer Gitman Vintage, Gant Rugger, Unis, Raleigh Denim and many other top notch brands to the men of Los Angeles. It’s a really well put together store and if you’re in the area it’s certainly worth going to check out even if you don’t plan on making any purchases. Oh and if you didn’t know, Unionmade has their summer sale in full swing on their website. Lotta deals to be had on some super clean gear. Hit the jump to check out some shots from the store visit. Cheers.

Nice Life Bucket List Items 1,435-1,445

Bay to Breakers is one of the biggest parties in the world. It’s happening this weekend. Get to San Francisco and get your party on. Can’t make it? Click here to see what the other 9 festivities are that you could potentially make it to.

WTF?!

Another epic video brought to you by alcohol, the world series and San Francisco. I really wonder what type of shit I’m gonna see this weekend. Again this is a McDonald’s in San Francisco not Oakland as you may think. It’s not all peace and love in SF.

YES! That’s Awesome!

Newy Scruggs you’re the fucking MAN! There’s so many good sound bites in this video it’s hard to believe it hasn’t gone viral yet. One thing is for sure, Newy enjoyed his time in SF.

Outside Lands Music Festival 2010: As experienced by Andrew Maness

Let’s get this out of the way right off the bat; I had not been to a music festival before attending Outside Lands in San Francisco two weeks ago. For some people what will make a difference in how they feel about what I’m going to say in this article but hopefully you’re not one of those people. The truth is that technically I could say I’ve been to two music festivals (Ozzfest in 2005, Virgin Music Fest in 2007) but I’m not counting those because they didn’t have the festival “vibe” (you know hula hoopin girls, spun out old hippies, rampant drug use,). I was unsure at first if Outside Lands would even have that vibe I’ve heard so much about but all my doubt was diminished the moment my friends and I went through security at Golden Gate Park on Saturday the 14th of August.

On The Road Again

Great weekend in San Francisco, more on that later. Truckee is chill time. Played some hoops today, thought about how much it sucks all my camera equipment got stolen in SF, decided the I-Phone 4 takes good enough photos to cover the rest of the trip, and decided tomorrow is a good day for playin music in Reno with the one and only Nate Farrell. Thursday it’s off to Park City and Saturday, Jackson Hole. Spreading the word about Nice Life one mile at a time.
