Vermont Skateboards recently hosted a backyard bbq skate jam at my buddy’s ramp in scenic, sunny, southern Vermont. Local legends Chris Waker, Jimmy Goodwin, Nick Bell and Steve Mull all put down some nice trickery for the crowd while Dan Smith probably drank more beers than anyone whilst still skating. I’m bummed I missed it but lucky for me I’ll be taking a trip back that way next week. The upstart company will be hosting a game of S.K.A.T.E. on Saturday, August 7th at the Dana L. Thompson Memorial Recreation Park in Manchester Center, Vermont. If you’re in the area and wanna participate or just check out what is sure to be an interesting scene you can find more info right here. It’s good to see the skate scene so alive and well these days in the soVT area as it was struggling for many years. Maybe someday the town of Manchester will get it’s head out of it’s ass and build a legit concrete park but I wouldn’t count on that anytime soon.
