Cole Barash: 544 Park from Positive Productions on Vimeo.
Great piece of work here from two of the most talented guys I know. Cole Barash has been a wiz kid behind the lens for over a decade now and Robbie Grieb continues to raise the bar with his digital film skills. Grieb’s shots of NYC, accompanied by Alexandre Desplat’s “The Cold Blooded Murder Of Deputy Vilmos Kolvacs” and Barash’s honest words make for a highly entertaining little edit. Make sure to check out Cole’s interview with Monster Children to get more background on “The Kid” and find out what makes his work a cut above rest of the lens-jockeys out there.
Monster Children: People
Only the Coen brothers could rework a classic like True Grit. This is a particularly damn good trailer too. That song choice is absolutely perfect. Can’t wait for this one, love me a good western.
This is a call to arms brothers. We cannot allow Julia Fucking Roberts to beat this shit at the box office. This is the movie the summer needs. This is the best of the best on screen together for the first time. Leave the ball and chain at home, sneak in a 6 pack of Schlitz to your local cinema and enjoy two hours of general badassery.
I watched this on cable the other night and it reminded me of a few things.
#1 Ray Allen can act and will always be Jesus Shuttlesworth.
#2 Denzel was and will always be the fuckin man.
#3 Basketball was and will always be my favorite sport.
And #4 He Got Game is the best basketball movie ever made. Hoosiers ain’t got the heart this film does but a basketball film made in the 80’s about white people from Indiana shouldn’t so that’s ok. If you haven’t seen He Got Game watch it and if you have watch it again maybe you’ll get something new out of it. Public Enemy music video bonus after the jump.
Rango looks to be visually stunning and has an all star cast (Johnny Depp, Timothy Olyphant, Bill Nighy and more) voicing the creatures inhabiting Gore Verbinski’s Mojave desert. I look forward to seeing it how bout you?
If for some reason you have not seen Mel Brooks’ classic film Young Frankenstein then you need to do so by the end of the week. If you have seen it I’m sure that having just watched the trailer for it will make you want to watch it again. For more laughs also see Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs or just about any other Mel Brooks film(Slient Movie and High Anxiety are tough to get through at times).
Not sure about the song but I’ll keep giving it a chance just to watch the video again. Really cool concept and great execution. Nice work Cullen Hoback
If you haven’t seen Black Dynamite you are a jive ass turkey. See Black Dynamite and your life will be alllllright.
More beautiful proof of the prowess of Canon’s 5D MKII in the form of an awesome video of the legendary 24 hour race at Nurburging.
Yep it’s another trailer for the video of the day. This one is for J.J. Abrams'(Star Trek, Cloverfield,Lost) upcoming film Super 8. Personally I cannot wait to see what he’s got in store for us. Check it out and prepare for months of wondering what it’s all gonna be about.
